Teaching Children About Bible Miracles
Teaching Children About Bible Miracles – The Miracle Of The Parting Of The Red Sea (Part1)
Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it
helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do
miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today.
Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Exodus: The Miracle of the Parting of the Red Sea. (Exodus 14)
There were several miracles in this Red Sea miracle for us to
consider today. Let’s remember that God’s people (about 2 million) had
left Egypt to go into the desert. God is leading them by a pillar of
cloud by day and a pillar of cloud by night. He surprisingly leads them
to the shores of the Red Sea where they appear to be stuck without a
way forward.
Ask the children…
Why did God lead His people to the shores of the Red Sea?
“Then ‘Pharaoh will think, ‘The Israelites are confused. They are
trapped in the wilderness!’ And once again I will harden Pharaoh’s
heart, and he will chase after you. I have planned this in order to
display my glory through Pharaoh and his whole army. After this the
Egyptians will know that I am the LORD!’ So the Israelites camped there
as they were told.” (Exodus 14:3, 4)
When Pharaoh’s army showed up and God’s people were so afraid that
they wanted to go back and be slaves again in Egypt, how did Moses
encourage them?
“But Moses told the people, ‘Don’t be afraid. Just stand still
and watch the LORD rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will
never be seen again.’” (Exodus 14:13)
What was the Lord’s saving miracle and how did He do it?
“Then Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the LORD opened up a
path through the water with a strong east wind. The wind blew all that
night, turning the seabed into dry land. So the people of Israel walked
through the middle of the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on each
side!” (Exodus 14:21, 22)
The next blog will look at the second part of this amazing miracle.
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
