Automatic donation machines launched at Dubai Mall

The policy of the Red Crescent Authority is to make it convenient for donors and to provide them with a wide range of options to contribute at local and international levels.

Automatic donation machines have been launched by the UAE Red Crescent Authority at Dubai Mall as part of its promotion campaign. The launch was attended by officials and representatives of charity and humanitarian associations and organisations in Dubai.
In the first phase, machines will be installed at 30 locations in Abu Dhabi, while the second phase will cover Dubai and the third, the rest of the country.
Dr. Mohammed Attiq Al Falahai, secretary-general of the UAE Red Crescent Authority said the project is carried out in pursuance of the directives of Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s representative in the eastern region, who is also chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority.
The policy of the Red Crescent Authority is to make it convenient for donors and to provide them with a wide range of options to contribute at local and international levels, he said.
“The counter launched at Dubai Mall is the first of its kind machine that offers a wide range of options to donors and links the donor directly to the automated financial system of the authority,” he said.
Mohammed Abdullah Al Haj Al Zarooni, Director of the Red Crescent Authority’s Dubai branch said the project consists of two types of automatic donation machines. The first is the automatic donation counter which gives the donor the choice of where to donate after being assisted by a representative for collecting the donations. The second is a complete automatic donation machine in which the donor chooses the area to which the donation is needed, and he/she will pay directly either by credit card or cash.
Zarooni also cast light on the achievements of the Red Crescent in the country last year. Dh250 million was collected during the period and it benefited orphans, prisoners and families of prisoners. He added that the authority is offering aid to as many as 83,000 people in the world, and funds 88,000 students. The Red Crescent has built 10,730 mosques in the world, constructed 180 hospitals and drilled 7,000 water wells in different countries.
